Prelimimary Task

Strengths about the preliminary task: The strengths on the preliminary task is that it involves all of the different camera types and so this shows that we understand what we have to do to create a good film. By including all of the different camera types, Shows that we have the skill ready for when we create the main film. Another strength is that the camera does not cut from one shot to another as it fades out so it is set out like a film and not like someone has just put some different shots together as one. By doing this is it encourages the audience that they are watching it like any other film and so they feel comfortable with watching the film.

Also, the audience is able to get in the shoes of the characters and they will feel what the characters feel while they are watching it. The music starts at the right time showing the audience that we were organised and we edited the film and so it would all fit together.

Weaknesses about the preliminary task: One weakness that I picked up during the preliminary task is that the lighting changes when a new character is introduced. Because of this, it looks like the shots are being taken at different times of the day even though they are not. Another weakness is that the music is too loud over the characters speaking and so the audience can not hear what they are saying. This therefore makes it difficult for the audience to under stand what the film is about and how the characters all link together.

Another weakness is that the shot of one of the characters goes from a shot with her looking happy and then all of the sudden she is crying making it difficult for the audience to understand why this is.

What targets am I setting myself for the main task?: For the main task I am going to makes sure that the audience understands what is going on and what the storyline is. by doing this they will understand the film and so hopefully they would enjoy it more. Also when doing the main film, I need to adjust the lighting and so the film looks how it should. When making the main film, I need to make sure that the music gets quieter and louder when it needs to be.

When taking different shots for a film, I need to use the transitions to blend the shots together and so it does not just cut from one shot to another in the same scene. If I achieve this, it would make the film look more like a film and not like someone has just put a few shots together because it would flow more like a film should.
