One of the settings that I am considering doing my film is in Ashtead woods. This is because there is a lot of cleared spaced areas where it is possible to film the film but there are also a lot of blocked tree areas which would fit the plot of the film perfectly. This is because film involves a possessed looking person which could easily be filmed coming out from behind a tree. It creates the visual effect of what you would get in a horror film and so the genre of the film would be clear to the audience when the film starts and they see this setting. The negative side to this is that as it is a public area, i have to film my film when no one else it around which could then be effected by the weather and the lighting. Therefore when making this film, I have to be conscious of who is around and when the appropriate time to record is.
Many successful horror films are based in the woods which is where most of my inspiration for this setting came from. I thought that it would be effective because the audience would automatically understand what type of film I am making and would then therefore be able to pick out what they would expect from the film.
